24 Hours in Boston: The Perfect Itinerary!!
Why visit Boston? Boston is a coastal city in Massachusetts that offers an amazing seaside view during all four seasons! They have a bevy of museums, great cuisine, and sports teams to enjoy (obviously!) I’ve been dying to do a blog post on my hometown for a while, so please excuse my excitement! This is the place where I grew up and spent the majority of my formative years in! With so much culture and history oozing throughout the city, I wanted to share a quick 24-hour itinerary (modeled after my short visit during Thanksgiving) for all your layover, staycation, or short-stay folks! Here it goes:
Acron Street (U.S.’s most-photographed street)
No visit to Boston is complete without a stroll AND flick of the picturesque Acorn Street. You’ll want to start your day early here since it’s a heavily trafficked location for tourists. Located in the charming neighborhood of Beacon Hill, you’ll get the chance to explore and marvel at the colorful cobblestone-lined street, its Victorian brick row houses, and antique black lamps…because it doesn’t get more Boston than that!
The epic courtyard at the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum
Continue your adventure to what used to be the home of Isabella Stuart Gardner, which was later turned into a museum as per her wishes in her will. Here you’ll enjoy the art pieces that she collected. Don’t forget to check out the courtyard (which changes every month). Be sure to reserve your tickets ahead of time as it is also a popular stop!
“Faces of Dudley” Mural in Nubian Square
I used to walk past this mural after high school every day to catch the bus. It is my favorite mural in Boston due to its meaning and history. This mural depicts Malcolm X and other local icons who were from Roxbury and lived in the area at one point. It’s almost like a time capsule!
Citrus and Lemon
After visiting all of these epic spots, you’ve probably worked out a crazy appetite. I highly recommend having brunch at Citrus and Lemon, this cute Mexicali restaurant is made for IG and has the cutest decor! The food here was pretty good and the cocktails did not disappoint. Also, don’t forget to check out the backroom right past the bathrooms for post-dinner drinks!
Roxanne’s
Because this is my hometown, we ended up stopping by to see our friends briefly and had a nightcap at Roxanne’s in Downtown Boston. This was a pretty chill spot, with tropical vibes and another round of cocktails. It definitely completed what I believed was an amazing day!
