The Fashionable Frequent Flyers

They say if you’re bored in New York City, that’s your FAULT! There are so many things to do in this epic, buzzing city. Then when you think you’ve done it all, there’s always a new restaurant, popup museum, or a limited event that’s calling your name to experience. I’m here to give you a snippet of all the fun and cool things I like to do in NYC-Enjoy!

1. Show your Skating Skills off at DiscOasis (Seasonal)

This item makes it on the list first because the last skate is on October 2nd. That being said, this place is a VIBE! For starters, it’s located at the Wollman Rink at Central Park, which allows you to kill two birds with one stone. Have a picnic during the day and pull up to DiscOasis around sunset for a unique skating experience. If you want to lean in on the theme, dress up in your finest 70s or glittery gear! I had so much fun while I was there this summer. The music and colorful disco décor were nice, which in turn created a fun environment for a dance party! There are also food and resting stations too in case you need to take a break! Check it out before the party ends!

2. Catch the Sunrise Brooklyn Bridge

Sunrise at the Brooklyn Bridge is an event like no other. For starters, the bridge is one of the most iconic places to visit in NYC. That being said, it’s always crowded with tourists. Our friend Antonio was in town and TOLD us this was something we should experience, so we took his advice! We looked up when the sun was rising and planned accordingly. We got to the bridge while it was still dark and walked to the middle in time for sunrise. Watching the NY skyline illuminate the city was incredible. However, the best part was experiencing the bridge when it is! It’s magical! I highly recommend doing this while visiting NYC!

3. Fuel Your Adventure Lust With A Doors-Off Helicopter Ride!

If you want to see NYC from a different point of view, hop on FlyNyon’s doors-off helicopter tour! Note that the trip starts from a hangar out in New Jersey, but the experience is worth the short trek. Hands down, this was one of the most memorable activities I’ve ever done and I highly recommend it. You get to see parts of NJ, Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn all at the same time! The uninterrupted views are unbeatable! Make sure you bring your cool sneakers for an epic photo!

4. The Oculus

The Oculus has a beautiful allure to it; from the unique architecture to the all-white interior, this building literally makes me think of what heaven would look like lol–bright and all-white in the clouds! It’s a nice short stop with rewarding photos. Also, there’s a mall inside of it, so you can shop the latest fashion collections after you get your flicks off!!!

5. Check out The Color Factory!

Now, this is a unique and interactive museum! Immerse yourself in the bright and bold world of The Color Factory! The color factory is an art museum that allows you to engage with its exhibits. There’s a slide that leads you into a ball pit, a conveyor belt with colorful macaroons, and ice cream at the end! It’s a sensory overload and worth the visit!

6. Take a swing at Swingers Crazy Golf

If a skating dance party isn’t your thing, how about indoor mini golf with lots of booze? Justin and I went on a fabulous date at Swingers and we had a blast! There was a DJ, various food courts, and different golf courses. We had the windmill course which was 9 holes. Each hole had a fun and challenging design like a copper windmill and an uphill swirl. Because it’s NYC, there was a delay between holes, but we barely noticed it because our caddy kept the drinks FLOWING LOL! I didn’t like that we had to share a ball, but it wasn’t the end of the world. Also, the food wasn’t bad either, it’s the usual food offerings like pizza, tacos, etc. The good news is because it’s indoors, you can enjoy this course all year round!

7. The Edge

If you want an amazing view of the city and don’t want to jump on a helicopter ride, this experience is for YOU! Check out the highest outdoor deck in the Western Hemisphere! One of the biggest highlights aside from the phenomenal panoramic view of the city was the glass floor that allows you to stare down 100 stories! NYC will never look the same after visiting this building. Also, if you want to add to the adventure, you can opt-in for abseiling, which offers a unique thrill!

8. Long Island City Waterfront

Admiring the city of Manhattan from Queens gives you a different take on New York City. That’s why you should absolutely check out the Gantry Plaza State Park. This 12-acre riverside paradise sits on the edge of Queens and boasts an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline. Not to mention, this is where that huge Pepsi-Cola sign resides. There are so many options for activities such as eating at the surrounding restaurants, playing volleyball, a cute picnic, or a leisure walk! You could definitely spend a day here. See for yourself!
