A Business Traveler’s Paradise in the Heart of Manhattan in New York City
New York City is one of the most visited cities in the entire world! It’s popular with tourists, but, because New York City is also the business capital of the world, business travel is also rampant in the city. To that end, figuring out the perfect hotel to stay at in a city with thousands of options requires a lot of calculation. There are some hotels that are better suited to leisure travelers, and there are others that are better suited to business travelers. If you’re a regular reader, you’re aware that most of my content is geared towards leisure luxury travel. But that’s not all I do. I often travel on more conventional business trips (that are not related to content creation) and it’s still just as important to me to find the perfect hotel stay. So, for future New York City business travelers, allow me to introduce you to the Kimpton Eventi – a business traveler’s paradise in the heart of Manhattan.

The Kimpton Eventi is located in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan, just south of Midtown. This prime location is perfect for every business traveler because it is a short walk’s distance from pretty much every Midtown location, which is where most businesses are located. To the extent your business is located in Nomad, Chelsea or even the village, you’re still just a walk away from your office or your business meeting location. The Kimpton Eventi is also right in the heart of the action if you have to schedule a business lunch or happy hour business meeting. In just a 5 block radius, you have some of the best cocktail bars, rooftop bars, pizza places, and dine-in restaurants in the area. In New York City, where you are located can make a really big difference, especially if you’re a first timer. Having lived in the city for more than ten years now, I can confidently say this hotel has the perfect location.

Critical to any business travel hotel are key establishments within the hotel that serve its guests. As a business traveler, you’re often out all day, and at the end of a very involved day, the thing that matters most is getting back “home,” and grabbing a bite to eat onsite or a drink before bed. The Kimpton Event is home to one of my favorite bars in the Chelsea area — “Back Bar.” It’s an absolutely stunning space with a very wide selection of wines and spirits, which is exactly what a Tuesday night at 9:00 PM calls for after being out and about in the city. It is beautifully decorated and offers a range of seating from high-top seating, low seating, and couch seating. The space also has a semi-private area that would be perfect for hosting events. If you need to grab dinner, you have two options: L’Amico and Skirt Steak, both of which are very good. Oh, and I almost forgot, one huge benefit of staying at the Kimpton is that you get free coffee every morning at L’Amico. It’s a pretty awesome perk.

Let’s talk about the accommodations. Now, if you’re a business traveler, I’m sure you agree that it is critical to have the right suite. You may need to work from your room, take business calls, including discussing sensitive things, eat your meals in your suite, and more. In some cases, you may need to take business meetings in your suite. If all you have is a King Room, that’s not going to cut it. It’s too restrictive for a luxury business traveler. At the Kimpton Eventi, they have the perfect business suite – “Live Suite.” It’s an incredible one-bedroom suite, featuring a massive living room, with a couch, television, additional seating, a work area, closet, a bathroom, and a pool table. This on its own is already impressive, but, from the living room, you have an incredible view of the Empire State building. The living room is separated from the bedroom, which itself has a King Bed, another work area, a television, tons of closet space, and a massive bathroom with a shower and double vanity. And of course, the Empire State view is ever present in this room as well. I’ve stayed in many New York City hotels, this is the best business travel suite I’ve ever stayed in. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Finally, the service at the Eventi was great. The front desk staff were helpful and attentive. The staff at L’Amico and Back Bar were awesome. I was never left lingering or wondering if anyone would assist. This is especially important when you’re a solo traveler, which I was on this occasion. All in all, my stay at Kimpton Eventi was great, and I’d highly recommend it. It gets a solid 4 out 5 star FFF rating.
