The Fashionable Frequent Flyers

Wine and luxury travel go hand in hand; like cheese and crackers or bread and butter. As a wine connoisseur myself, it should come as no surprise that I’m on a mission to visit the world’s best wine destinations. (I’ve already been to a few, but I’ll save details on that for another post focused on wine tasting). Napa Valley was high on my list— many consider it the best wine destination in the United States. So, over MLK day weekend 2025, I made my way to Napa Valley, where I stayed at the beautiful Bardessono Hotel & Spa. WHAT A PLACE!

First, things, first— let’s discuss just how beautiful this property is. Bardessono is a perfect mesh between eclectic country and modern chic, with its perfect use of oak and stone structuring, fascinating art, and glass exterior. The property offers ONLY suite and villa accommodations, all of which have spacious rooms with fireplaces, beautiful bathrooms and amazing bathtubs (a personal fave), and several other stunning features. My Steam Spa Suite had an outdoor shower (another personal fave), which was just awesome. I also loved the rooftop pool, open-air gym, and hot tub. The property was designed to absolute perfection!

Second, let’s touch on F&B! It’s Napa Valley, so y’all already know they had the “B” in “F&B” down. The wine was exquisite — definitely my favorite American reds to date. But, the food was incredible too. I don’t know if you know this, but Napa Valley is home to some of the finest restaurants in the country. The culinary scene is top tier, even featuring one of the few 3 Michelin star restaurants in the world. Lucy, Bardessono’s in-house restaurant, is exquisite. The food was phenomenal, and with the wine pairings, divine! My friends and I had a blast and we ended up hanging out at the restaurant for 3.5 hours. Check out our experience at this highlight here!

Third, this property prioritizes self-care, and that’s a huge selling point for me. Whenever I’m on a trip, I try to make time to take care of both my body and mind. Bardessono offered a variety of different ways to accomplish that goal: seaweed baths, in-room massages, exercise in the lap pool or open-air gym, and relaxing in the jacuzzi. All of this over a three-day period was exactly what the doctor (or city slicker) ordered. And with a setup showcased in the images below, you can imagine how difficult it was for me to leave the tub.

All in all, this is an easy FFF 5* rating. This is the sign you’ve been looking for to visit Napa Valley!! Get out to Yountville and stay at Bardessono!!
