The Fashionable Frequent Flyers

Last month, I had the pleasure of returning to San Diego for some R&R. Of course, Linda tagged along (as she usually does ;)). We were particularly excited about this trip because it was particularly cold in New York in the month of February, and there was a heat wave in San Diego during our trip–how fortuitous. Also, our trip spanned over Valentine’s Day and our anniversary! It really couldn’t have been a more perfect time for a quick 4-day trip to California. So — what is this one thing you MUST DO during your trip to San Diego? Drum roll pleaaasseeeeee!!!!

That’s right, travel fam: A luxury beachside picnic is the MUST-DO activity in San Diego! Let me tell y’all, I’m a romantic through and through, and I’ve done many a romantic thing through the years (like this). Having said that, this luxury picnic is right up there with the most romantic things I’ve experienced. The selected location for our picnic was Windandsea Beach, a gorgeous beach in La Jolla. The setup was just beautiful, from the color-coordinated décor to the exquisite details in the place settings, and of course, the champagne! All of this with a view of the sun slowly going down. Couldn’t have planned it better myself.

Luxury beach picnics in San Diego are offered by a variety of different companies. I chose San Diego Picnics because, in my estimation, it offered a personal touch that wasn’t present with the other companies. The company is run by Miriam, who does the setups and photo sessions herself. It’s a wonderful endeavor and it’s clear that she puts her heart and soul into the experiences she curates. A variety of different experiences are offered. We chose the Boho picnic experience, which was approximately $350, and it came together very nicely. We also added the photo package, which was an extra $300, and, as you can see, totally worth it! Now, we have the perfect memento for an amazing evening!
