HAWAII’S MOST COLORFUL TREEHOUSE!
There are so many incredible things about Hawaii that listing them all in one blog is next to impossible. In today’s post, I’d like to focus on one of the most unique stays available: The Adventure Treehouse! We found this marvel on Airbnb when planning a trip to the Big Island, Hawaii. The treehouse is located close to the Hilo side of the island and is in a fairly remote area close to the national park. I can confidently say that this property is what sparked my interest in “unique stays” around the world. I’d give it a solid 4.5/5 star rating, for the reasons explained below.
First, the property’s creative design. I’m a huge fan of color and this is without question the most colorful property–airbnb or hotel– that I have ever stayed at. Everything about it was so enchanting. I also really loved the set up. The property was a loft inside the treehouse, with the bed on a higher floor. The kitchen, living, room and bathroom were all on the bottom floor of the treehouse, with the space really well utilized. It resembled a tiny house but didn’t feel cramped. And there was a really incredible patio that you could access either from the front via a ladder or the back through a bridge. I posted a walk through video on my Instagram here.
Second, seclusion and variety! Often on trips, I like to combine a mix of activity and busy accommodation stays with private and secluded stays. It gives a good balance–recharging on the one hand and immersion on the other. This is an incredible place to be off the grid; in fact, cell service is incredibly spotty over here. I took the time to relax, read, listen to some smooth jazz, and also enjoy the outdoors around the property. They even have a zipline, which I very much enjoyed.
Special mention: The bathroom in these treehouse is everything. Such a unique shower and the black on black is just chef’s kiss. Check it out below.
