The Fashionable Frequent Flyers

So many things make for the perfect hotel stay. It’s not merely enough that a hotel is a 5* hotel. Trust me when I tell y’all this, but there is so much variance in 5* luxury. The best of the best 5* hotels focus on giving you an incredible experience from top to bottom, leaving no detail left to chance. This starts with superb service and an excellent staff. And this applies to all levels of staff — valet, house keeping, reception staff, pool attendants, management, etc. Thereafter, you start to notice everything else that the hotel offers (both subtle and obvious). The decor is one of the first things that catches your eye, and that tells you how much thought was put into the design of the hotel and how visually appealing the hotel wanted to be to guests, and then you start to take note of everything else: the quality of the food, the amenities the hotel offers, the quality and design of the rooms and suites, and location of the hotel. With that in mind, Nobu Atlanta excels in each one of these areas!! It is for this reason I believe it is the most exceptional stay in Atlanta.

Okay, as previewed, let’s start with service! The service at Nobu Atlanta is exquisite. We were greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism by the valet upon arrival, and this was undoubtedly an indication of what was to come. The staff at the reception were warm, welcoming, and a pleasure to speak to. They offered us black tea and hot towels to refresh us from our trip. We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready, so we went to hang out at the rooftop pool, get some drinks, and relax. The pool staff were very friendly and took good care of us. Literally, we’d only been there an hour and our experience with hotel staff was already fantastic. Throughout the rest of the trip, the excellence of the staff lived up to that first hour. At every turn, we were met with staff who met our needs, did it with a smile on their face, and were always friendly. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Ramadan, who drove us to Buckhead Village a couple of times with the Nobu Atlanta house car. He was always pleasant, patient, and accommodating. (Note that the house car (the Porsche pictured above) can take you anywhere within a 2-3 mile radius of the hotel). Second, I’d like to give a shoutout to the supervisor on duty during our stay- a tall black gentleman who we met on many an occasion in the lobby. He was absolutely spectacular!!

Let’s turn our attention to aesthetics of the hotel. Immediately you walk into the lobby, you notice the exquisite design — rich teak wood is contrasted with dark slate tones. A black and gold lacquered reception desk is situated in a warm wood alcove. A floating, woven white glass curtain inspired by the obi—a sash worn as part of a kimono—adds a layer of texture and light behind the reception desk. These tones continue throughout the hotel, with the hotel embracing earthy and twilight themes generally. The slick design oozes sophistication, and gives the vibe of being in both a domestic and international destination.

The easiest no-brainer with Nobu hotels is the knowledge that the food will be superb. The in-hotel restaurant at Nobu Atlanta is, of course, Nobu, one of the most amazing sushi/Japanese cuisine restaurants in the world. The food is obviously exceptional, but let’s also talk about the restaurant itself. The design of the 272-seat Nobu restaurant was influenced by the traditional Japanese garden pavilions that were often used for ceremonies and rituals. The bar and lounge area features a backlit, white onyx bar volume that sits in front of a 12-foot-long river rock art installation. And for those who don’t know, Nobu on a Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night is also a vibe for drinks.

Last, but certainly not least, the vibes were immaculate. This summer has been unusually hot, and so the goal has been to find the best ways to cool down. The rooftop pool at Nobu Atlanta is such a good time — so good that we basically made it a point to hang out there every day during our stay. We also made use of their awesome gym every day as well — it’s unusual for a hotel to invest so heavily in their gym, and Nobu Atlanta went all out!! Check it out here!

All in all, this hotel earns the 5* FFF rating. If you want a chance to win a 2-night free stay at the hotel, check out this post and follow the instructions to enter the GIVEAWAY!!!
