It’s the season of love, and for many of us travelers, we’re all trying to figure out where to go with that special person! Well, readers, I got you! For those looking to get away next week on the perfect romantic Valentine’s Holiday, look no further than Fairmont’s Mount Kenya Safari Club in Nanyuki, Kenya — Kenya’s most lush hotel (and possibly the most lush hotel in the world haha).

So what makes Mount Kenya Safari Club the perfect romantic destination for the season of love? First, the grounds are absolutely stunning. When I say this is the most lush hotel in Kenya, I want y’all to understand what I truly mean – everything is so green and exceptionally well-maintained. And, because of all the flowers in the various gardens around the property, the hotel is also very colorful. It oozes romance and vibrance. There are also various animals roaming the property like llamas, crested cranes, peacocks, and other beautiful creatures that just set the perfect natural scene for a relaxing and peaceful time.

Second, there is no shortage of opportunities for romantic meals at this beautiful hotel. For starters, the restaurants within the hotel are amazing and the food at this hotel is generally spectacular. However, in addition to being able to eat at the restaurants, there are various settings where you can enjoy a romantic meal on hotel grounds–at the rose garden (which is also a hot spot for wedding ceremonies), picnic on the garden grounds (perfect for a romantic lunch), bongo breakfast (a wonderful morning meal with these majestic creatures), and dinner outside your cottage (or inside your cottage). There are probably even more options. The offerings are endless.

Third, this hotel is truly luxurious! Terms like luxury and 5* get thrown around, and mean many different things in many different jurisdictions. Indeed, in Kenya as well, some hotels classify themselves as 5* luxury hotels but they are truly barely scratching the surface of 4*. Mount Kenya Safari Club is a true 5* hotel. Everything from the service to the rooms, to the grounds, to the activity offerings, to the spa is all top-notch! No detail is left unaddressed. This enhances the experience tenfold. I visited in October, before the season of love, and felt the romance of the hotel. I can only imagine what it’s going to be like during Valentine’s Day–something you don’t want to miss.

Finally, there’s a variety of activities to keep you and your bae busy throughout your stay. These days we’re always talking about love languages–be it quality time, gift-giving, etc. For me, I’m someone who loves doing activities with my bae. At Mount Kenya Safari Club, you can go bongo tracking in the AM, go on a game drive at the nearby national park, play the myriad of sports available at the hotel, including golf, tennis, croquet, etc., you can go horseback riding, you can swim, you can walk around the maze. There’s literally no shortage of activities to do, and you and your bae will have the time of your life.

In conclusion, it bears mentioning that I’d give this hotel 5 stars out of 5 from the new FFF hotel rating system. It’s a marvel and everyone should visit the hotel!
