It’s also the only major city in the world with a national park in it! From a historical perspective, the hotel has played a pivotal role in Kenya’s historical legacy, having existed through colonialism, independence, and present-day Kenya. And while the hotel closed its doors briefly during the pandemic, Fairmont The Norfolk used that time to refurbish many of its main areas, including the Cin Cin Lounge, the gift shop, the lobby area, and the Tatu restaurant. Upon its reopening, it is more beautiful than ever and the perfect place for all travelers to call “home” as they visit Nairobi!!.

Fairmont The Norfolk has many amazing offerings, including a state-of-the-art spa, a full gym and picturesque swimming pool, beautiful garden grounds, an amazing lounge, an incredible in-house restaurant, and several stunning guest rooms. As is known with the Fairmont brand, the service is 5* all the way, and you feel this from check-in through to check-out, through your interactions with the reception and concierge staff, to wait and bar staff, all the way through to housekeeping. At no point do you feel that Fairmont dropped the ball! In addition, The Norfolk has one of the most unique activity offerings in any Nairobi hotel – Afternoon High Tea. This offering comes with a wide variety of tea selections, including Kenyan tea, which is simply exquisite, as well as an eclectic array of bitings. The presentation of the bitings is perhaps one of the most unique ever, with a small little chest of drawers, offering both savory and sweet treats in different drawers. You can enjoy the experience at either the Cin Cin Lounge or the hotel’s beautiful gardens.

Reason 3: Spectacular Food

Many people come to Africa to experience authentic and flavorful African cuisine or cuisines imbued with an African Twist. Fairmont The Norfolk strikes the perfect balance in offering authentic Kenyan cuisine, as well as cuisines from other cultures imbued with a Kenyan twist. Every single meal we had at Fairmont The Norfolk was incredible. And I do want to point out one stand-out item — the hotel’s in-room dining offering. Usually, the hotel’s in-room offerings are sub-par, but the in-room breakfast spread at Fairmont The Norfolk was just incredible! I couldn’t recommend this hotel more.
