The Fashionable Frequent Flyers

When people think of New York, the first thing that comes to mind is the concrete jungle, the empire state building, the statute of liberty, in sum, the city that doesn’t sleep! But, your good friend and luxury traveler extraordinaire is here to broaden your horizons! First of all, New York is not just New York City. Many of you knew that; many of you likely did not. Outside of the 5 boroughs of New York City, there are some incredible gems around the state. It is on this thematic note that I’d like to introduce you to The Chatwal Lodge — the perfect getaway destination in Upstate, New York, located in the Catskills (approximately 2.5 hours outside of New York). This lodge is the perfect embodiment of serenity and tranquility, and is precisely the recharge you’ve been seeking after a busy year.

Let’s start with the property. First of all, this place is MASSIVE! And when I say massive, I don’t mean 1000 acres or 10,000 acres, I mean a WHOPPING 100,000 acres!!! Yeah that’s right. I was astonished upon hearing it myself, but oh it’s very very real. But size isn’t this lodge’s only exceptional quality. The aesthetic of the property is incredible. I’d like to think of it as luxury cabin/hunting lodge chic! The earth and plaid tones perfectly intertwine to create an amazing nature-esque feeling. And this applies to the main lodge area and our suite in Chapin Hill. Moreover, the decor is eclectic and unique, with animal carvings all around the property as well as other unique animal statues. The things to celebrate about The Chatwal Lodge don’t end there. Let’s talk about the list of fun things to do, and boy, there’s so much to do out here. So much so that it doesn’t matter whether it’s raining or shining, you absolutely will never be bored here. And that also means you can visit at any time of the year and still have tons to do. So, lets start with the outdoor activities. My favorite activity was fly fishing, hands down. You can also go hiking, biking, stargazing, and make some s’mores. If you want to get out on the reservoir, you can do a host of water activities: kayaking, paddle boarding, boat rides, etc. Indoors, the rec center is an activity haven – poker, duck pin bowling, tabletop shuffle board, pool, movie theater, painting. Seriously, I’m not making this up. This video demonstrates it all.  In sum, you’ll be having a ton of fun at The Chatwal Lodge.

Last, but definitely NOT least, let’s talk about the service at The Chawal Lodge. If I’ve said it once, I have said it ONE THOUSAND TIMES — service sets the really good hotels apart from the exceptional ones. The Chatwal Lodge knocked it out of the park in every department, from the moment we set foot on to the property to the moment we left. There was not a moment on the property that we did not feel taken care of. And what was especially noticeable to us was the fact that everyone was happy to be there. You can tell that the staff all felt that it was a special place and so wanted to make sure we left knowing how special a place it was. A special shoutout to Ruben who went above and beyond for us – Thank you, sir!

Okay, I lied! That wasn’t the last thing — the final thing I wanted to mention is that your stay is ALL INCLUSIVE!! And the food is exquisite. And when i say exquisite, I really mean it. Everything was perfection!!

This is probably the easiest FFF 5 star rating I’ve given all year! I cannot recommend this property enough.
