The Fashionable Frequent Flyers

Boutique hotels hold a special place in my heart, primarily because of their personal touches. The Andros Boutique Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, was one of our most memorable stays. This 5-star hotel seemed to satisfy every craving we had, whether it was culinary delights at their in-house restaurant, Homespun by Matt, or the cigar room, where they provided top-shelf liquor. Even the rooms were well-decorated and comfortable. If you ever find yourself in Cape Town, I’m about to explain why this is the hotel to stay at in my detailed review.

Let’s talk about the location. For the activities we had planned, this hotel felt ideally situated. It’s just a 20-minute drive to the Lion’s Head trail (a short hike with a great view of Cape Town), 25 minutes to Salsify (a restaurant with an epic tasting menu), and about 37 minutes from Boulders Beach (where you can catch the penguins!). This convenient positioning made our trip much smoother and significantly reduced the time we spent in traffic. We were exactly where we needed to be. Plus, this meant more time to relax in the hotel for us 🙂

The accommodations at The Andros Boutique Hotel are nothing short of exceptional, blending classic elegance with modern comfort. Each room is thoughtfully decorated, offering a sense of luxury and coziness typical of a grand English manor. Our suite featured a plush king-sized bed and a beautifully designed en-suite bathroom with a large bathtub, heated floors, and a shower. It was also equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar, electronic safe, air conditioner, and tea/coffee making facilities, ensuring all our needs were met. One of the highlights of our stay was the large windows that provided ample natural light and serene views of the lush gardens, enhancing the overall ambiance. The nightly turndown service and personalized welcome note made us feel pampered and well-cared for throughout our stay. We were also welcomed with arrival gifts that filled the table upon entering our suite – it was the most we’ve ever received at any hotel, EVER!

And now moving on to my favorite part of my stay – the food. We had not planned to eat at the hotel at all. In fact, we had a list of restaurants that we had planned to hit up. However, after a day packed with activities, we returned to the hotel exhausted and decided to dine in. I’m glad we did because we were blown away by their 3-course menu! The dishes were a work of art; I almost felt guilty eating them. Each bite had a well-rounded balance of flavor, making the dining experience truly unforgettable.

The service at The Andros Boutique Hotel was impeccable. The staff were attentive, warm, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.

Based on our experience, we would rate The Andros Boutique Hotel a 5/5. The combination of luxurious accommodations, exceptional dining, and outstanding service made our stay unforgettable.
