YOUR DREAM OUTDOORS LUXURY EXPERIENCE AWAITS YOU IN NEW ZEALAND
Ever have a trip that just completely blows your mind? That was my November 2023 trip to New Zealand. I had heard that New Zealand was beautiful, and sure, I had seen some pictures and videos on social media, but nothing I had seen could’ve prepared me for the raw beauty of the Lindis Valley area, where The Lindis Lodge is situated. The mountainous region and vast unoccupied land make for an entirely uninhibited natural marvel. Every moment at The Lindis was spent in jaw wide amazement.
So, apart from the scenery, what made our stay at the Lindis so special? First of all, let’s talk about the accommodation. Linda and I stayed in the glass pod — one of the most unique accommodation spaces we’ve ever stayed at. The exterior is all reflective glass, meaning that from pretty much any angle, you’re getting a glance of the gorgeous landscapes. The pod itself was fairly snug, but was stacked! It had a King bed, a lovely pantry area, which was stocked with snacks, food, and alcohol (all included in your stay), and a shower, vanity area, and toilet. The Pod had a deck within its structure, which had an exterior hot tub, and outdoor seating facing the beautiful mountains. It made for an a purely magical stay!!
Now, let’s discuss the activity slate at the Lindis. I think one of my favorite things about this lodge is the range of fun activities you have access to. I’m a big outdoors adventurer, and being in this sort of environment, I figured I’d get the opportunity to indulge in a whole range of outdoor activities. I was not wrong! The best part — there were a lot of firsts for me during this trip. I had an opportunity to try gliding for the first time, as well as fly fishing and e-biking. I also got the opportunity to do clay shooting for the second time, go running, and also go hiking! Another thing that we did that was incredible was eat lunch by the Ahuriri river. This was without question the most beautiful lunch set up I’ve ever experienced. Not to mention, the food was spectacular. Considering that our stay was only two nights, the range of fun activities we did was incredible.
But, wait, that’s not all. I can’t do a hotel rating without discussion of the food. And the food at The Lindis was spectacular. All meals are had at the lodge, save for meals that are served at one of the excursions, e.g. the barbecue lunch by the river or the picnic on a glacier (which I didn’t get a chance to do, but is on the bucket list). Dinner is a tasting menu every night, and the food is beyond INCREDIBLE! We’re talking the finest of fine dining. The breakfast options continue to live in my brain rent free — I mean, when duck is an option for breakfast, you know you’re living good. Oh, also a special mention to the cocktails and champagne selection. Both were AMAZING!!
Finally, I just want to make a quick mention of the outstanding and unique architecture and interior design of the Lindis. I thought it was especially impressive and the perfect blend between modern and outdoor chic!! This sort of beauty encapsulates you, and simply enhances your experience! My only regret is that I didn’t take more photos of the interior — was too busy being blown away I suppose! Here are 3 shots that give you a glimpse into how slick the decor is.
This is an easy rating for me: The Lindis gets a roaring 5 Stars!! I couldn’t recommend this place more.
