The Fashionable Frequent Flyers

As a self-proclaimed safari expert (having been on safari over 50 times), I have become adept at finding the most luxurious stays out in the bush and the grasslands. I recently returned from my first trip to South Africa, and y’all know there was no way I could visit this beautiful country without checking out Kruger National Park. The Park did not disappoint; we saw the Big 5 in only two nights, and the lodge that hosted us was spectacular. For anyone interested in visiting Kruger or Greater Kruger, here’s some free game: STAY AT SIMBAVATI HILLTOP LODGE!

The property is perched on the hillside with wide-angle views over the bush and views of the distant mountains of the Drakensberg escarpment. There are eight luxurious tents, an infinity pool, a viewing deck in the main area, and an amazing restaurant. From the viewing deck, and from each of the tents, you can see the expansive Mbali Dam and the Nhlaralumi River, where you may be lucky enough to see elephants and other wildlife quenching their thirsts.

What’s the luxury tent layout? There is a lovely bedroom area, featuring a King size bed, a lovely desk area with international charging ports, and a heater/air conditioner (which comes in handy considering how much the weather fluctuates). There is an outdoor shower, with two shower heads, so if this is a bae-cation, y’all can shower together outside. It’s a whole mood. There’s a bathroom, which features a wonderful tub with a view of the park and dam as well as two sinks. Each of the tents has a deck area with a day bed. Rule No. 1: Don’t fall asleep on the day bed at night — the lodge isn’t fenced and the wildlife definitely freely moves through the camp. It’s truly quite exhilarating

Simbavati Hilltop Lodge has top-notch service. They pay attention to every little detail. Upon arrival, you are assigned a server who will take care of you throughout your stay. You are also assigned a guide and a tracker, who give you the greatest game drive experience. All of them are so knowledgeable and make every drive a learning experience. Other experiences offered include a boma dinner, daily sundowners in the bush, spa services as well as other bespoke experiences available upon request. Do yourselves a favor, and book your stay NOW!
