The Fashionable Frequent Flyers

The fine dining landscape in South Africa is vast! There are so many options to choose from and many of those places offer several courses! With stunning views, stellar wine, and memorable experiences…you would be doing yourself a disservice by not partaking in the fine dining scene! Not to mention, you don’t have to break the bank to enjoy these elite experiences, these meals averaged $80pp-which in comparison to other fine dining establishments is a STEAL! That being said, we hope our list of fine dining establishments to try in Cape Town delivers an unforgettable experience!

1. Salsify at The Roundtable

Kicking it off with Salsify, this restaurant was 10/10 for me. It was a delectable sensory overload!!! For starters, it had incredible views of Cape Town’s beautiful coastline and the majestic Lion’s Head mountain! That alone was something to boast about! Then you have the spicy decor, the impeccable service, and the reason why we came there-the culinary adventure! Each plate was opulent, tasty, and well-plated! Dish after dish, it was a meal to remember! I did have two regrets, opting out of the larger menu (due to an early schedule) and not booking a reservation during sunset. I do recommend making reservations in advance because it is a popular restaurant with limited seating!

2. Homespun By Matt

This sensational restaurant hit all the marks! Homespun is unique in its own right. With beautifully crafted dishes bursting with flavors, an elegant space, and a diverse seasonal tasting menu, Chef Matt pulls all the stops! The cuisine here is Asian, European, and locally inspired dishes that put all your five senses in awe. Make sure to leave some room for dessert and reservations are a must!

3. The Pot Luck Club

Located on the Top Floor of The Old Biscuit Mill, the ride in the glass elevator offers EPIC panoramic views! Here you can order as many tapas-style meals as your heart desires and still, somehow make room for more. The dining concept reflects its namesake – pot luck and each plate is inspired by one of the five basic tastes: sweet, sour, bitter, umami, and salty! We highly recommend the fish sliders and the calamari! Be sure to try it out while you’re out there!
